SCU, located in New South Wales, with its main campus in Lismore, is one of the youngest universities in Australia, having been founded in 1994 – and is steadily making its mark on the world stage. Some of the subjects offered at SCU include Social work, Health sciences, Business, Tourism, Music and Creative Arts and Nursing and Midwifery, among several others. 1. Entry requirements
The standard academic requirement for entry into a postgraduate programme is a Bachelors degree from a recognised university. Certain programmes may have additional requirements such as work experience.
English language requirements: the preferred test is IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 6.5 with no individual score below 6 for most Masters Programmes. Equivalent scores in other tests, including TOEFL, PTE and Cambridge English are also considered.
2. Costs and Funding
The annual tuition fee for Masters programmes generally averages at 26-30000 AUD, with similar fees for graduate diploma programmes and approximately half the fee i.e. 13000 AUD, for graduate certificate courses.
Scholarships: there are scholarships available for international students, both commencing and those already studying at SCU – for instance, the Outstanding Academic Performance Scholarship awards 5000 AUD towards tuition fee for the second year of study to a student who maintains an excellent academic record.
